Can I Hide My Criminal Record In Nevada?

Can I Hide My Criminal Record In Nevada?

Yes, in most cases you can. Nevada allows the sealing of certain criminal records, which hides it from the public view and allows you to deny it ever happened. There are of course certain requirements like the waiting period and staying out of trouble. Some crimes are not eligible as well, but most crimes are eligible.

The basic waiting times to be eligible to seal your record are as follows:

Misdemeanor – 2 years from when your case has closed.
Misdemeanor DUI or Domestic Violence – 7 years from when your case has closed.
Gross Misdemeanor – 5 years for when your case has closed.
Category E felony – 7 years from when your case has closed.
Category C and D – 12 years from when your case has closed.
Category B – 15 years from when your case has closed.
Dismissals, Not Guilty and Acquittals – No wait time.

Sealing your record can take several months. Call our office at 702-895-9111 for a free consultation if you are thinking about sealing your record.
